Helen Harris was a giving person and an unconditionally loving mom, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. (She was also crafty and a fabulous cook.) She sadly passed away in September 2022. Helen Jean Photography is not only named in her honor, it exists because of her. Helen Harris is my grandmother.

Hello! I am Tanya, and I am so glad you're visiting!

I work full-time for the state of Idaho as a Digital Communications Specialist. I’ve designed graphics for a variety of online and print media materials for over 25 years (read more about that here). My position required me to learn photography, so I attended workshops and shadowed industry professionals.

For experience I've spent time capturing special moments like senior portraits, family/fur baby pictures, and weddings for family and friends. I knew it was time to invest in a professional-quality camera of my own!

The older I get, the more I believe the universe course corrects; if you're supposed to have something, the way to obtain it will reveal itself. When my grandmother passed, she left me something amazing: the funds to buy that camera!

Warren Buffett said, "Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." My grandmother Helen Harris planted my tree; I can't wait to enjoy the shade with you!
